My God (or Flying Spagetti Monster, whichever you prefer)

Why do companies royally screw up the display of TV's?
I know that they want them to be nice a bright in the shop, to have them stand out.

Could they not have a "return to optimum setting" button for when you get it home?
I had to calibrate my new Toshiba LCD screen and i must saw the difference is staggering. No longer is there over sharp images with ghosting halos, colour is much more level and realistic with no one tone screaming over the rest.

I would love to be able to afford a professional calibration as I feel that this TV is only now scratching the surface of its cababilities but even the amateur job that I have done on it has made it so much more watchable and enjoyable.

The Lord of the Rings has never looked better!
