Hey, so recently got a Nokia N70 on offer in vodafone, but all the lads are killing me cos they're all on meteor and won't text me cos of them not getting free texts...

So what i was thinking of doing was getting a meteor sim, putting it in my old phone so the lads can text me away, and when my free credit stops coming from vodafone, switch my old number back to meteor and putting that into the n70. Is this viable/possible option?? (Besides having to unlock the phone i mean)

I know the feeling. Same thing's happening to me. Changed my number because of a nutcase woman, used a Vodafone SIM I had lying around, now I'm suddenly getting contacted less often. Seems I'll have to port to keep them happy!

Back on topic, yes a 3G phone will take a Meteor SIM fine. But if you're in an area where a) Vodafone roaming is active or b) Meteor are testing the 3G network, then you might have problems with the phone attempting to register on the Meteor or Vodafone 3G networks, failing, then just sitting there with no signal. If this happens then disable 3G in the network settings.
