drivers license as ID

My brother has to fly from dublin to london next week but he doesn't have a passport. Does anyone know if Aer Lingus will accept a Full Irish Drivers License as identification? I've tried ringing them but i've been on hold for ages and i can't find any thing on the website.

If flying to the UK, yes, but only to the UK. Expect to have to explain it at every hands turn through the various checkpoints.

Irish passengers travelling to the U.K. or within the UK are not required to carry their passport however it is still required to bring either a passport or some form of official photo identification when travelling to or within the U.K. You will often have to produce your passport when registering at hotels or cashing travellers cheques.
