New Season Prepwork

Hey I've just started playing senior hurling again after a two year break. The thing is I'm very unfit. I want to get fit early for next year's season so I can be better prepared to fight for a place on the team.

Anyways, I was wondering what excercise techniques people use outside of training to get fit for the hurling match environment. Is there any tips you could share that might help me?

    Thanks in advance!

Squash or racket ball, good fun, improves hand eye coordination. Another good one is spinning. Spinning is very good for fitness, it’s high intensity and low impact. (.i.e. not pounding the crap out of your knees)
In fairness I’ve never attained a greater level of fitness than I did from running around pitches in the mud preseason.
    Good luck.

for general fitness something like running around a park, or playing a court sport is good - handball, tennis, squash

for hurling fitness, pucking a ball against a wall for an intense 20 minutes is very good for the muscles, touch and co-ordination
