My SkyStar2 (software :Technisat DBViewer )is scrolling at the bottom of the screen this message :
evaluation period has expired. Please buy the elecard mpeg2 video decoder at www.elecard.com or contact sales@elecard.net.ru
and there is an icon (small rectangle)on the top right of the screen.
Searching on the net tells me to uninstall elecard software . I don't have any installed.

Running DECCHECK.exe shows 4 decoders , inc. elecard MPEG-2 Videodecoder- file name em2vd.ax version 1.0.215.60621.It is *NOT* the preferred decoder.
    Preferred is Cyberlink Video /SP Decoder - file : P2GVSD.AX , version 6.0.0.2310 = all ticks are green .......

How do I stop this damn scroller ..............

Have you removed the "elecard MPEG-2 Videodecoder- file name em2vd.ax version 1.0.215.60621"?

You know , just writing it down helps.
immediately after posting I decided to search for the .vx file and found it in C:\ProgDVB in the filters folder.
Uninstalled it and yipee !! it's gone

    Thanks for the quick response
That's what makes Boards great :)

BTW my search in XP seems to be failing a lot lately.
I had to go to the command prompt to do a DIR p2g*.ax to find it.
    XP's search did not
