    I'm heading to Vancouver & Seattle next Easter with my best friend (a guy). Any ideas on what to see or do there as we have only a week and want to optomise our time there?

    Thanks :)

    Seattle = the Needle
    Vancouver = Granville Street walkabout (pubs and restaurants)

    Seattle: Space Needle (bit pricey but must be done)
    Ferry trip to accross the bay.
    Shopping?

    Spend most your time in Vancouver if you can, amazing city with tons of stuff to do.

    Seattle & Washington State:
    Mt Rainier - day bus journey from city
    Boeing Factory in Everett - pretty cool tour of the aircraft factory. He might like!
    Coffee shops (Seattle is famous for Coffee... the home of Starbucks!).
    Both lovely cities though. Happy planning!

    Is the 'needle' the thing that looks like the CN tower in Toronto (saw the CN tower in 2005 when it was the worlds tallest building and it was fab!)

    Thanks whiskey, the boeing factory would be great for him instead of making him do painful girly things like shopping!

    In addition to places recommended by Cionád, go to Commercial Drive (Skytrain to Broadway Station) for excellent and reasonably priced cafes and restaurants. Granville Island is interesting but rather touristy, market worth a visit. If you go to Grouse Mountain, also visit Capilano Suspension Bridge. If you like shopping malls, head to Metrotown in Burnaby (second largest mall in Canada, though best shops are in downtown Vancouver).
