FastMac Batteries

I finally ordered a black battery for my Macbook from the Fastmac crowd.

    You may save your money.

They are cheaper than the official Mac product but they a) don't fit as they should -snugly- and b) do not offer any noticeable improvement in battery longevity over the Apple version (though they claim (up to) 68% more life per charge).

Furthermore, it took a month to come as they put the wrong postage on (which
I had to make up) and then in addition I had to pay 16GBP customs (not their fault, of course).

    Not worth it.......

I think the correct phrase is "You should keep your money", as your phrase invites me to save some money for a purchase (thankfully your mini-review states is the exact opposite of what I should be doing!)

Yes, you're right, it doesn't read too well :-) Keep your money, firmly in your pocket, bank, wallet etc. Do not give it to Fastmac.

I'd steer clear based on the lack of clarity on their site alone. If you look at they site they say 'Up to 68% More Capacity Depending on Model'. They don't seem to go into any more detail on a per model basis.

EDIT: Actually, if you look at the batteries for the ancient G3 laptops they all claim sizable increases over the outdated battery technology in the originals (which is hardly a surprise). Nothing else makes any claims as the difference in capacity is probably negligible.
