I`m desperate to get out this year for my first time (I better be held to this).

I plan on going on a Childrens Hunt. Does anyone have any rough estimates on
getting a hireling and transport to and fro (I don`t drive and I really doubt anyone would want to give me a lift!)

Thanks, I`m in Dublin so what hunt could it be?. I`d prefer fox hunting as an intro as drag hunting is just a lot faster.

    Lets see...
I only know galway prices. But should be similar.

    Hire of horse 130-150 euro

    Cap 25-100 euro.

Why not do a childrens meet on stephens day.? The cap would be much cheaper usually 10 euro in the west.

Would love to go on a stephens day meet but not for a first time, it would be too crowded. I would have to rely on hirelings so I have no idea what I would end up with!.

Hey im hoping to go hunting this season - (trying to get horse fit at the moment!) any one know of good intro hunts in the N. Dublin area ,or meath...and how much the cap is??? also any drag hunts around???

South County and Bray Hunts are both drag hunts. You should ring up the secretaries and ask them about introductory days, or easy days, because the level of difficulty can certainly vary.

I happened to pick one of the most difficult for my first day's drag hunting!
    Good ol' craic that! :D

First jump that day was a full sized metal gate let down at an angle.... twas a good job the adrenaline was in full flow at that stage!
