WD My Book, Delayed Write Failure

    Hi,
Recently I got 2 500GB USB 2 Western Digital My Book external hard drives. Some times when I've been transferring files, I get a "Delayed Write Failure" message from the system tray, it will mention a file who's data has been lost but when I check the file on the HD, it seems fine:confused: I've done a google search and some guy had the same problem and it turned out to be his usb card, but another guy had the problem and ended up losing 100gb of data. Fortunately, the 2nd one I have is a back-up of the 1st:)

Anyone here experience this problem? I have a laptop so can't go upgrading usb cards and that may not even be the problem either!

    Any feedback appreciated:)

Anytime I've experienced this its been the harddrive, never had it happen to any of my three MyBook drives though...luckily :)

Best to try and test the drive on a friends machine if you don't have a second one

    There's a 24month warranty I think.
