Bit of small trip involved though.
Matalan are selling dinner suits (jacket and trousers), perfect for any black tie occassion for the princely sum of £40 :D . (€60!).
I have to hire one for next week and Black Tie in Dublin quoted me €100! so I decided to go North and have a look at the prices up there.
Ended up buying one for nearly half the price to hire one.
    Can't be bad.
They may have other branches but the one I was in was in an Industrial Park on the road to Kings Hall.
Easy to find, 1hr 20 mins from Airport.
Also worth a look is the The Outlet on the way back between
    Belfast and Newry.
    www.the-outlet.co.uk
    Some good shops there.

    TIP
Make sure you don't need to get petrol in the North, 50% dearer.

You'd get a black suit in Penneys for a similar price - I think it's €40 for the jacket and €20 for the trousers, or less even.
I don't think the jacket fits very well but it's a good "everyday" suit and you can't expect much for the price.

The OP is talking about a Black Tie suit as opposed to a normal suit. Seems like a great deal!

Very cheap for one of those suits.
I bought one 3 years ago and it was €150 in M&S and that was a
    good bargain at the time.

Yeah I was reading the comments and thought
there's 2 conversations going on here?

yeah, talking about black tie formal suits. I bought one on ebay for €140 delivered and thought it was a good deal, however, they are really cheap now in Arnotts bargain basement (€100) and Guineys (sp). Even the shirt/ bow and cumberbund for €18. You cant go wrong there. I think they got in alot of them for debs.
