It appears that yahoo have terminated my flickr account. I wrote them an email last week asking why but I’m still waiting on a reply:rolleyes: .
After skimming the T&C’s nothing really stands out to why my account would have been deactivated. The last time I checked my yahoo mail account was inside the last four weeks. Anyone know if there is a way to get my account reactivated? If not, does anyone know what will happen the photos? Do they belong to yahoo/ can I get them removed.

Looks like it’s time to bring out the ole HTML books

It doesn't look terminated to me Michael. Are you sure?? Have you reached your upload limit??

the photos will stay even if the logon is deactivated I'd imagine... That is, unless the photos are deleted deliberately by yourself or a member of flickr/yahoo staff..

What address did you send an email to?

I’ve been trying log into my flickr account and my email account but it keeps saying invalid Id or password. Then when I try to reset my password I get to a screen were I enter my username to retrieve my password and I get a page with this message

This Yahoo Account has been deactivated
“Please remember that the Yahoo! Terms of Service provides that Yahoo! may terminate your Yahoo! account in certain situations, including (a) where a violation of the TOS or other incorporated agreements or guidelines has occured, (b) in response to a request by you (self-initiated account deletions), or (c) extended periods of inactivity. For full information, please review the entire TOS“

Sorry it wasn’t an email. It was a message though their customer support page.

I dont think i reached my limit, but if i did i dont think i would be locked out of my email account.

My guess is that your flickr account might have been compromised in some way. Do a search in the forum on hijacked accounts.

Flickr and Yahoo used to be separate companies before flickr was bought out. Wasn't there a big hullaboo about 6 months when the original flickrites were supposed to get Yahoo ID's.

Maybe that's the problem - you have an original flickr ID and not a 2007 Yahoo ID??

Did you sign up for a “special photo package" or something?

@isadub: Doubt it. We were forced to start using the Yahoo! ID's and only them for a while now...

There was one time when I logged into my account @ flickr I was asked if I wanted to provide my credit card details for some type of security but I ignored it. But again I can’t see why this would change things.
I’ll take a look at the hijack forum

There's a problem with google, with yahoo integrated with gmail etc. you may have something like this

    http://it.slashdot.org/it/07/09/24/1328231.shtml

"Multiple Google-targeted exploits disclosed in the past 3 days could compromise your GMail account, steal your pictures from Picasa or impersonate you on almost 200,000 big sites which outsourced their search engines (vulnerabilities included in the price). If even Google, a very reactive company when web security matters, does face this kind of problems, how serious is the threat and what can you do, as a "normal" web user, to protect yourself?"

uhhh, are you actually being serious above ?!? If so then your account has almost certainly been compromised ! How did you get the link ? was it through some email ? A comment on one of your pictures or something ? I'm curious because I've never seen any of those flickr exploits in the wild.
