Has anyone done the Homestudy option or lectures. I need some advice on which option is best and why. Ive got a problem with the lecture timetable which involves me giving up a hobby of mine.

Im feel oblagated to go to the lectures incase I miss something but my experience of lectures tells me they can be a total waste when ur tired. So going to lectures after work I dont know how productive they wud be. Anyone with some advice???????????????????

I done homestudy option for Part 2 & 3 as I live in the country. I think a lot of people take the Home study option going by the numbers at the weekend lectures which they run 3-4 times a year. Notes are very good so you don't have the problem like with accountancy qualification tax notes where there are a lot of errors and typos. Got all my exams first time so I would have no problem recommending the Homestudy option.

I just signed up for part 2 eveining lectures. Considered doing homestudy but I dont think the first class is until november, Id rather get an earlier start.

Robbiechecker, I hear there is a big difference between part 2 & 3, any thoughts?

I heard that too when I was doing part 3 but if you put in the work, you will be ok. More emphasis on case law and legislation - you could nearly leave the calculator at home. Done part 3 in May 2006 and Income tax was hardest. Case law for Vat was less emphazised as they reduced the marks for the case law as students were passing the exam based on it. I know they tell you not to look at past paper questions and to look at the most recent issued legislation but for me, the past paper questions come up again and again, the latest legislation for Income tax was not examined at all.
