Accountants letter??

    Hi guys,

I'm currently in the process of getting a bank loan for a business I' starting up. Without going into too much detail, I've been asked by the bank in question to supply them with an accountants letter to say that I have no previous business debts.

Has anyone here had to get a similar letter before? Specifically, how much does it cost and can I get one from any regular high street accountant (I have no history with accountants in the past, always worked for someone else!)

    Thanks in advance.

surely you should go back to bank and tell them you have no history with an accountant so dont want to waste money while starting up????

And the bank turns around and stamps a big red "Denied" on the application form as response.

Anyway I'd ask the bank for an accountant they recommend (you're going to want one to do the books anyway and it will look better) or ask in the accountant section (top of Business section here on Boards).
