    looking to get my toyota starlet '93's gearbox either reconditioned or replaced. Is there anywhere in or around cork that might be up to the task?

    Give Naas Gearbox Centre a call, they're in Kildare but I wouldn't be surprised they supply someone in Cork... . They do all sorts of boxes and clutches and I found them quite good myself. When push comes to shove driving to Naas from Cork isn't the end of the world either. Be carefull what you spend though, you could be picking up a similar car for less than the cost of repair..

    Another option would be www.247spares.co.uk ( a pool of UK car breakers, most do courrier delivery to Ireland )
