Gmail Spam problem

I've a problem with emails getting sent to the gmail spam folder that are not actually spam. I've a server sitting at home that generates logs depending on problems/errors and these are sent to an email a/c that's not gmail as my server does not support gmails ports. I've gmail setup to import mails from this account and this works fine for all email sent to this other account except for the server logs. Other email arrive fine in the inbox but the server logs end up in the spam folder. This is a problem as I don't have pop3 access at work and I rely on the gmail desktop notifier for emails. I've created filters and labels for the logs and added the address to my contacts but this hasn't sorted it out.

Anyone know how can I sort this out?
