    from RTE.ie news:

    Investigation into Cork warehouse fire
    Monday, 24 September 2007 08:26

An investigation is expected to get under way later today into the cause of a fire which destroyed a warehouse where tonnes of toxic chemicals were stored at Little Island, Co Cork.
The warehouse was operated by Protim, a company which sells products for treating and preserving wood.
Nobody was injured in the blaze.
The alarm was raised just after 7pm yesterday evening and immediately fire fighters from Cork city and county responded.
But when they got there, flames were already emerging from the doors, windows and roof of the warehouse.
There were several explosions soon after the fire fighters arrived on the scene and the flames and smoke rose hundreds of feet in the air.
The roof of the warehouse collapsed.
At one stage there were up to ten fire fighting teams on the scene from Cork City and from neighbouring towns.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze will begin once the remains of the building have cooled down.
Fire fighters say they are satisfied that residents in the area were not at risk from the smoke, but they advised people nearby to keep their windows and doors closed.
It is thought that around ten people were employed at the warehouse.

My broadband connection has been offline since about 7 last night - the exchange is quite near the warehouse!
