Ya see I hate looking at small pictures. I haven't seen a photo yet that doesn't benefit from looking at it at a larger size. As well as that, the algorithms that these people use don't always show the smaller sizes at their best.

So what I have done on Flickr is make anyone I know here a "friend". I then set my permissions so that my "friends" can see my stuff at the full size. I would really appreciate it if people here did the same, if they don't mind of course.

Well, what do ye think??? ;)

Of and if I have not done that for any of ye let me know and I will amend accordingly......

I allow full access to all anyway, but think what you have suggested is a great idea, did you by any chance discover a way to do it as a batch or do we have to do them all one by one.

I don't think mine have any restrictions on them.

Go to You, Your Account, Privacy & Permissions and change the settings for who can download your photos. That's a global setting...

Done. Also added a few of the rest of you as friends too. If I missed anyone, and you're bothered, let me know.

The only reason I distinguish friends from contacts is to keep pictures of my kids private - I don't like any old Joe looking at those. So these are now open to those of you I've added as friends. Virtual friends at that, since I've never met any of you !

you could always change the status of your kids photos to family only...

Aye, but thats for photos, I meant a batch way to convert a given number of people from bog standard contacts to friend.

Dosen't matter now almost all done.

Hi Danny, I marked you as a friend, (I go by afewscoops on flickr) but I'm afraid it won't make any difference to the pictures you see - I've only been uploading at 800px max so far. Which is part of another problem I have, mostly down to laziness - I often only finish the 800px version.

to be honest i only upload low res (72 dpi) versions of all my pics to flickr...at least untill i can cough up for the pro account.
If anyone wants to see them in larger form they can always ask :D

I'm not talking about DPI, I'm talking about pixels. There is no pount uploading anything more than 72 DPI because a monitot cannot resolve anymore detail than 72. The only reason you would need to upload 300DPI would be to store them for later download for printing.
