Conspiracy Theory

Is there any way that the match officials for Argentina-v-Ireland could be placed under some form of subliminal pressure by the IRB or referee’s assessment panel or whatever to make calls favourable to France to ensure they top the group and save the RWC turning into an economic disaster?

For example, multiple sin bin-ings against Argentina all at the same time, awarding penalty tries to Ireland… etc

I wondered the same before last Friday and I though White gave every early 50/50 call against us. As things turned out, France didn’t need any help, but I have a feeling that if that match had been tight, the hosts facing the humiliation of elimination in the pool stage, that an ambitious ref might be inclined to make the call which would have pleased all the IRB blazers.

Obviously, we could “benefit” from any such conspiracy.

It's gonna take the ref physically scoring the tries for us if we want more than a snowball's chance in a urinal.

"Loffreda threw a message for the International Rugby Board. “Against Ireland the referee is going to be Paul Honnis, who without doubts has an enormous category. But he is the same referee who was in the inaugural party of the 2003 with Australia and we had some doubts in the interpretation of the rules”, shot the Argentinian Coach. And soon its order made public: “We want to speak with Paddy O'Brien, person in charge of the referees, so that it does not return to happen this Sunday”.

    :)
