safari and firefox quitting all the time ????

    i have a mac thats 10 months old and never had any trouble before but recently safari and firefox keep quitting unexpectedly it could take me 3 or 4 times before one of them stays open. anyone got any ideas ? should i get rid of one and just use the other all the time ? i'm a bit lost.

    Have you recently updated either? Firefox 2.0.0.2 really didn't get on with my college network. The next update fixed that.

    I don't really know what the problem could be unfortunately. You could try repairing your disc permissions I guess, though I'm not sure it would help. As a temporary solution you could always try Camino either.

    Go to /Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

    Trash this file but DO NOT empty your trash just yet. Re-load Safari and see if you get anywhere. It will generate a new plist file to replace the one in the Trash. If everything appears to be fine then you can empty your trash with the plist in it later on.
