    Hi!

I´m going to Ireland for a few days, and i´m wondering if there are any places in Dublin where you can rent a veterancar for some days? I´m thinking like an MG or Jag - convertible. But as long as it is a veterancar, it might be enough =)

Have any of you some kind of answer to the above? I appreciate it if you do! =)

    Hi Norwegian girl,

    Welcome to the forum!

With regard to your question, unfortunately until recently there were no companies renting vintage or veteran cars in Dublin (or Ireland), to my knowledge.

However, I recently noticed an advertisment offering several vintage cars for rental...incl an E-type Jaguar. (Though I don't recall if any of the cars advertised were convertibles).

I will try to locate the details of the company for you (or perhaps another forum member will be able to post the details here).

I hope you enjoy your stay in Ireland!

    Regards,
    Silvera.

    http://www.heritagesportscars.com/

Run by good friends of mine in Adare, Co Limerick (some way from Dublin)

You may be interested in their E type coupe, MGB and Triumph TR6, last two are convertibles.

    Thanks for welcoming me, Silvera!

Ireland is going to be great :)

And thank you both for your swift and good answers!

Unfortunately i´m only 22 years old, and cannot rent a car from http://www.heritagesportscars.com/ on behalf of their terms and conditions. (Is this a general term in Ireland?)

That isnt´t exactly good news since they have the car(s) I am looking for :(

Well, well. Maybe you know of someone other than Heritage Sportscars?
I´ll definitely move around on the internet myself, but I haven´t found anything yet.

    Thank you once again!

    Guro.

In that case I think you are going to struggle to find anything. In Ireland and UK no one will insure you under 25 on that sort of thing unless you have lots of money! Even with lots of money, insurance in Ireland can still be a problem.

I suspect even finding a modern convertible in a regular hire fleet could be difficult, given the amount of rain we have here!!

I hope you find something to suit you and enjoy your stay.
