Villain is a solid tag. Has been at the table maybe an hour and only shown down the goods. His first two hands he won and is a 400 winner.

I have an aggressive table image and have been fairly active recently.

    Stacks: Me 160 odd
    Villain: 600 odd

I am in the BB, Villain is in the SB.

Pick up 22, limped around by 4 players and I make it 12 to go in the BB.

    3 callers.

    Pot 48
    Flop

    Jc4s4c

    SB checks
    Hero makes it 40
UTG+1 folds as does other limp caller.

Villain check raises to 125 putting me all in.

    I??

Fold. You've represented strength all hand and he's still happy to check raise you. Even if at best and he has two over cards like AK(highly unlikely) your not that big a favourite. If he has two overs and a flush draw you're behind and you could be drawing dead to 2 cards.

Hum and haw for a minute, act like you've a monster. Tell him his rag 4 is good and move on

    check preflop and check/fold flop..?

As played...., Im focusing on the call/fold decision on the flop more so than anything else.

yep i agree with that. don't mind raising here sometimes but only with a bigger stack where i'm not putting a third of my stack in on a c-bet

Seems a weird line from villain...

you are behind to any 2 cards.

Unless the villian is a mate of yours who's just trying to get one over on you then I doubt you see total air here especially against a solid TAG. Unless he has 23 he's still gonna be in good shape

I know you said you want to focus on your flop decision but I really dislike pf.This raise usually accomplishes nothing as you are guaranteed multiple callers and are oop, take the huge implied odds in set mining and limp would be my pf line. The fact that you show pf strength obv influences a c-bet, i don't like leading into 3 players on a paired board for such a large % of my stack. As played, i grudgingly fold.

Preflop is terrible, the flop bet is terrible and a call now would be bad. There are very few hands I would fold because of the odds, but this is one of them. I'm never bet/folding this flop though cos pot odds will be too good, so I'm not leading with a hand that I'm not willing to call with. Exploitable - yes, by those players - no

You must of called and won if you're posting this hand?

Everything about it is bad though. Try not to do this much in the future.

Is this a joke? This is one of the worst hands i've ever seen. Fold.

ugh. raising from the bb with 22 pf is horrible. cf flop.

Hey madden thought i'd chime in,

If you have an aggro table image the chances of you pushing through the 22 with that €12 raise preflop are slim, I much prefer a check here as your hand has a lot of set value in a multiway pot,

Also postflop the continuation bet from the BB €40 is very aggressive bordering on maniacle in a 4 way pot,

I would prefer to check and then muck unless you think the flop better is weak then a check raise shows massive strength and you can get him to fold hands like 10J QJ KJ by repping AA KK QQ JJ or AJ,

obv muck when he pushes on flop,

you really playin this aggressive these days? yum yum :D

Ok, the lot of you can shut up, I may be a haddock but Im not that much of a haddock.:(

I was the villain, I had air, and I also was retarded enough to think this was a good spot for a bluff and to pick up the pot.

My line is awful. I realise that now. meh, live and learn.

He called and my air went unimproved.

    Sure you were ;)

If u really were the villain the in this hand! I don't like your line either against someone with that stack who has raised from the bb and cbet for a third of their stack, you are getting called too often, infact you are getting called almost always.

    Horrible call with 22.

True, you really don't have much fold equity at all pushing light in that spot.

Yes. Rush of blood to the head although I didn't think he would call for the reason that he has so much in there as he wasn't exactly poker theory educated. He would look at the extra 80 as exactly that, 80quid, not that he has 1/3 of his stack in there.

    Anyway, bad move, lesson learned.
