pp w/ flopped overcard

Hey just a general enquiry about a type of hand I reckon I'm misplaying regularly

I'll just c&p a post I wrote in another thread which isn't getting much replies.
    Something i've been wondering about.

The kk with an A on the flop scenario - checking the flop is standard.

But lets say you have 99 - JJ on an A high flop. Is it better to check this flop and bluffcatch or bet it for protection?

Or would you check flop and balance by betting the turn for protection?

Or do you just take the same line as with kk but fold to any action on a scare card?

Up to now I've always taken a bluffcatching line with one overcard to a pp. Is there ever any merit in betting for protection? If so, example scenarios?

    Cheers.

I hate giving this answer but I think it depends. ie positions, whether pot is HU, what opponent is like, stacks, RRd pot, co-ordinated board, etc.
In general the lower the PP, the more likely I am to bet. Just post a hand or 2 if you have histories

agreed very dependant on how many are in the hand and any previous history with these players

ie even kk on an ace flop, if oop against 2 or more players id norm check fold (unless crazy stats on opponents told me otherwise) also depends alot on table dynamics

I think it is more dependant on the player and whether it is a 3bet pot than position or any other variable.

Just fold kings pre flop in a multi way pot. The things are ace magnets.;)
