Get the best one you can find in argos, then return it after the match for a full cash refund! Then go to komplett pixmania etc

    can have good deals.

I was in the Swan centre Dunnes last night and they have a Sony bravia 32in(HDMI) etc

I know it is closer to 800 but maybe worth it?

Just thought i'd mention it! Might be in all dunne stores. Watch the match tonight.

on the Komplett site it has that the LG model linked above is a 1080p tv is that right or just a miss print?

I think it has 1080p i saw the same one in dixons the weekend and it had 1080p. but didnt get the model number ot make double sure.

It can accept a 1080p signal, but will downscale it to 1080i or 720p. It can't display in 1080p as it only has 1366x768 pixels.

o right. So its this cheap for a reason. what is the minimum pixel width and height for 1080p

IIRC, 1080p panels have 1920x1080 pixels.

1080p is pretty much indistinguishable from 720p unless
    1. you're sitting very close to the screen.
    2. You've got a very big screen.

If you look at the attachment, you'll see that to get optimum benefit from a 1080p screen, you need to be sitting approx. 6 feet from the screen!
And if you're sitting more than 10 feet away, it looks the same as 720p!

Dunno about any of ye, but I live in a "normal" 3 bed semi with an average sized living room. Viewing distance varies between 9-12 feet. There is no way I could justify to HID that we need a minimum of a 50" screen in the living room. Twould overpower the room, imho...and I love my gadgets and gizmos!
