Question about FTA in the future.

I bought one of the Lidl FTA packages recently and am very happy with the whole deal. Was very easy to set up for someone new to satellite like me.
    My question is this?
Is it true that BBC will have their own digital satellite platform in the near future and will this affect my FTA viewing of BBC,ITV etc. in any way with my current setup pointing at 28.2E?

apparently, it will have an epg which will require a specialist box but thats only to get the epg, the channels will still be available fta such as bbc and itv

    Thats great, thanks!
The epg doesnt concern me. As long as I can still get BBC/ITV on my Lidl FTA I'm a happy camper! :D

OT btw, the only channel I cannot get is RealMadridTV. Anyone know if this channel is still available FTA? Maybe its something to do with the settings on my receiver.

Real Madrid TV seems to be encrypted now, according to Lyngsat. This has changed recently.

    That explains it. Thanks. :)

You might even get C4 when the Beeb launches its "Freesat" service.

It's not impossible that *SOME* receivers will get a firmware upgrade to be Beeb EPG compatible, but don't hold your breath.
