the best and cheapest network depends on the person.

    1. how much do you call?

    2. who do you call most? (what network)

    3. when do you call? (time of day/weekend)

    4. do you text much?

    5. who do you text most?

    6. do you need internet access?

    7. do you call or text internationally and where?

    8. anything else you use your phone for?

    1. Make a lot of calls more than text
    2. Calls vary between Vodafone and Meteor
    3. Anytime
    4. Don't text much as much as some people,
    5. If I do it's again split vodafone and meteor, but prob swaying towords meteor
    6. Be handy
    7. Odd call to NI and if I'm working in England
    8. Video calling is a plus, but not in the slightest essential.

    Is 3 actually that good?

Can you roam on other networks beside Vodafone and O2?

if roaming is a big issue for you id recomment three all the way. if you visit another country with three (UK, Italy, sweden, hong kong, denmark, austria, australia) then there is no roaming charge, all prices stay the same. and, there wont be a charge to answer a call either.

    http://www.three.ie/international/paymonthly.htm

also, if you do end up in a country without 3 or roaming on a different network, the roaming charges arent too bad at all.

sounds to me like meteor talk 300 (04) would be good for you

    €50 per month

    300 minutes to O2, voda and 3

unlimited free meteor to meteor calls

unlimited free meteor to meteor texts. 9c to other networks. you can get 150 texts for €7.50 as an add on

20c flat rate outside your minutes. meteor still free of course

20c per min to call england/NI landline. 29c to mobile

    15c to text england/NI

20c per minute to make a call in england (on t-mobile only)

free to receive a call in england

i believe you can get an internet add on of 10gb for €30 but i might be wrong on price and allowance :D

3 allows you to call england with your inclusive minutes and use your minutes when in england but i can't recommend them because their customer care is criminally bad

The 10gig data add on is for Talk 400 and higher only. There's two other adds ons below that. I believe it's 15megs for a tenner and 25 for 15.
