    Hi Guys

I am building a new house and I want to put in a sound system for the whole house, probably in 6 rooms. I want to be able to play different sources in each room. I have wired the speaker cable to every room and run cat 5 for wall mounted control panels.

I know i'm doing it arse about face, but now I need to choose a system to run it all. I have looked at a few online including this one:
    http://connectedhomes.ie/acatalog/Multi-Room_Multi-Zone_Audio.html
Does anyone have experience of this system, or a reccomendation of another. I plan to connect 1 cd player, 2 ipods and a tuner. All in I don't want to spend more than 5k.

    Any advice welcome.

    Thanks

With a budget of 5k you could do better than the system you are looking at there.

    http://www.russound.com/caa.htm

As an alternative to what you linked to the russound system would come in with a price tag of 3700 (including vat, the website you linked to prices are ex vat) including the amplification, keypads and speakers for all zones. Have worked with this system a lot and its great.

For a small amount extra you can also upgrade the keypads to the KPSC It adds direct numeric selection and additional functionality, such as, play, pause, track up and down.

Let me know if you need any more info.

    Thanks Industria,

It looks like a nice system. The controllers look nice, but i'm a little concerned the it only outputs 20 watts per channel. The other one i am looking at outputs 60 watts per channel.

At a quick glance it would seem that there is a big difference in power output between the two systems. I have not heard the system you were originally lookong at but have heard the russound system and 20 watts per channel with a decent pair of speakers is more than enough for most rooms in an average residential house.
AV Import are the distributors of russound in Ireland. You should ring them and see if you can arrange a demo in their showroom before you invest that much money in something.
Let me know if you need any further info.

    Cheers,

    Look at Sonos www.sonos.com

You could do a 6 room system for about 4 -4.5 k by the tim eyou include speakers cables and hard disk etc. Sonos also 50w output afaik.

Have one, and also had something like the russound before the sonos, and sonos is the way to go.

Have a look and post or pm with any queries
