I don't think this the right forum but it's the closest I could find

I love sparkling water far more than still.
Does a device exist that would let me make sparking water at home

Only device I've heard of is Sodastream but I was told they aren't sold anymore
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodastream

    Thanks:)

Soda streams are expensive, they are less popular now so are even more expensive than in their boom time in the 80's- back then there wasnt much saving either, and own brand soft drinks are even cheaper now than in the 80's. I remember a 2L of dunnes coke was about 55pence in the mid 80's- about 70cent, now in tescos or dunnes the same is 35cent. Own brand sparkling water is pretty cheap. If you checked google it might say how many litres a sodastream cyclinder will fizz up. I would bet the equivalent in 2litres is cheaper- even if you got the main unit for free.

seen as sparkling water is adding carbon (the sparkles) to water.....does that mean its bad for the enviornment? as in were adding to our carbon footprint if you buy a bottle of it in the bar?

(iv been known to produce green house gases of my own after a nite on the ale)
