PC not detecting USB 2.0 ports

I recently built my PC using an Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD mobo and an Antec Fusion case. It has USB ports on the front and back, but none are picked up as being USB 2.0. I get a ‘this device can perform faster’ message when I connect a USB 2.0 device, and the properties for the USB ports says ‘There are no HI-SPEED USB controllers installed on this computer’. In Device Manager, all USB controllers are listed as ‘Standard...’.

Any ideas on how I can get USB 2.0 working on these ports (I have lots of data to transfer and it’s a bit of a nightmare at the moment)?

Is this not a hardware problem?

I mean are USB ports either one or the other?

    Hi,

I've double-checked and the mobo does have USB 2.0 ports - as listed in the Back Panel section on this page.

So it seems that the hardware can handle USB 2.0 but for some reason it's not happening - I thought it might be a driver issue, but then I thought why would the CD that came with the mobo have installed the wrong drivers, but maybe I'm missing something.

i had a similar problem as this and as far as i remember to solve it, i had to install .net framework v1.1(i think) just install the latest version i guess
then i reinstalled the motherboard drivers from the cd and all was well

Good man - I'll give that a go so. To reinstall the mobo drivers do I need to manually delete them and then install from fresh, or can you just reinstall them over the existing drivers?
