    Hey all,

I recently reformatted my hd and reinstalled Office 2007. I'm using Outlook 2007.

I imported a saved .pst file from my previous install. When I went to setup the email connection, Outlook 2007 just asked for my email xxx@eircom.net and my password. At no point did it request the eircom pop3 info I had installed previously with other versions of Outlook.

The wizard told me the email was setup successfully, and I can received mails fine... all outgoing mails are bouncing back though -

    here's the bounced mail message:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

    Subject: RE: Day 14!
    Sent: 19/09/2007 23:17

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

    'xxxnameherexxx' on 19/09/2007 23:17
553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

I've tried looking in the outlook setttings for a remedy, but it's a rats maze of options!

    Thanks in advance...

Check that your SMTP server is set correctly. It should be the SMTP server of your ISP and not your email provider.

i.e. If you connect to the internet using BT you need to use their SMTP server to send mail through your Eircom address.

You're absolutely right - my ISP is BT, but the mail is with eircom...

Unfortunately I don't know how to do what you've suggested, could you please explain what settings in Outlook 2007 I have to change and where...

    Sorry to be a bother!

I don't have Outlook 2007 so I can't tell you exactly. But it should be in Mail Account Settings, probably under the heading of Server Settings. Someone else might be able to tell you.

I found it and solved the problem - many thanks!
