there's one besdie central bank in templbar and i can't for the live of me think of the name of it. It's upstairs has the largest vinyl section in dublin apparently. You can also try road recs

If you're in Dublin or Cork or any other major city or town, keep an eye out for record fairs held every so often - I've picked up fantastic stuff at those. And downstairs in the newsagents on Eden Quay in Dublin (to the left of O'Connell Street just before O'Connell Bridge) there's a place (can't remember the name of it but you'll find it easily). There's also a place on Wicklow Street - again, can't think of the name, but it's easy to spot - it's a very open shop with music playing loudly.

They are both called Freebird records

The record fairs are great when they come around end up spending a fortune.
Other than that I get most of my Vinal from E-Bay

freebird on eden quay no longer exists. we have moved to the premises at central bank(where comet and sentinel used to be).
we also have a shop in the secret book and record store just up from tower.

Oh sorry about that, moonboy! I could have sworn I saw the sign for it on Eden Quay the other day.
Incidentally, fab shop - I've picked up some great stuff there!

    Spindizzy - George's St Arcade
    Macs - George's St Arcade
    Road Records - Fade St
    Borderline - Temple Bar
    Mojo - Merchants Arch
    Record Collector - Wicklow St

I'm pretty sure Record collector on Wicklow St has closed down. Pity as it was a nice little place. I have passed it a lot recently and it hasn't been open in ages. sign of the times with the difficulties of owning a music store.

Spindizzy in the arcade used to have a lot more second hand vinyl than it does at the moment.

Spindizzy really depends how recently it is since someone went mental and sold their exceptional record collection. The amount of gold I've found in their in one box only for it to be gone after a couple of days is unreal.

The OP could have been a bit more specific as to where he/she is.

OP, if you're in Cork, Vibes & Scribes (Bridge Street - just across Patrick's Bridge and on the right hand side) is the absolute mutt's nuts. They've also opened a new branch on Lavitt's Quay (near the Opera House) but I think that might only sell books.

sorry if a bit vague, based in dublin. have checked out freebird and borderline not really much in the way of what i'm looking for, trying to replace a lot of vinyl which my ma gave away when cleatring out my room a couple of years back, a lot of irish stuff into paradise, honeythieves, power of dreams...etc,
although to be fair i can't remember half of whats gone so anything decent would be good all i managed to salvage was by bunnymen and jmc stuff and only cos my bro had borrowed it.

Power of Dreams, Into Paradise - all that stuff is pricey enough on vinyl these days. Power Of Dreams 12"s sometimes carry a €8 - €10 price tag.

Their CDs are a bit cheaper - best bet Amazon Marketplace.
Into Paradise's first LP, Under The Water, was released in the US as 'Into Paradise' and had some nifty track substitutions [stuff from Change EP added at the expense of some less worthy album tunes]. I picked up one for 1 cent a couple of years ago - saved me burning the vinyl onto CDR.
