    Hey All
My Firefox just quit, it keeps tellin me
    Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.boards.ie

    * Check the address for typing errors such as
    ww.example.com instead of
    www.example.com

    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.

    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Tried everything, havein to surf with.......Ugh! IE7
It mentioned something bout an update before it went nuts

    Help Me Please

Check Tools->Options->Advanced->Network and then click Settings. Make sure it it set to automatic there.

    Suggestions:
    1) Run a portable firefox app from a usb key to see it that works.
    2) Export your bookmarks, uninstall & reinstall.
    That's it!

You could try creating a new profile. Make sure Firefox is closed then, Start|Run|(type) Firefox -p

Same thing happened to me yesterday evening when it updated to 2.0.0.8. Being using it since day one with no troubles. Downloads the update and gone! Being spending a whole day at my routers and even thought my ISP was down. Then by chance saw another program updating and checked IE7. No problems surfing with IE7 (which I hate). Did a system restore and even re-installed 2.0.0.7. Firefox will NOT work no matter what. Any ideas what the hell caused this? Thanx ;-)

Try File -> Import, and import your connection settings from IE.

firefox has not been in the best of health for me either. Over the past 2 weeks it starts up and during browsing just stops. get the message about error and restarting the session and it happens over. im back using IE again.

jehsus, I've never had issues with firefox on either my home windows or mac or my machine at work, must be just lucky I guess :)

sorry m8. none of these solutions worked. Back to IE now after many many years. And btw, I'm no noob to computers either. I have tried everything I can think of. Cannot understand why FF gave up on me. Will try Opera.

Maybe try uninstall FF, reboot, then go delete any folders and delete any FF registry keys from HKLM and HKCU. Just make sure you backup your registry before hand. Once you have deleted all traces, then download it from the main site and see if that works.

If not, maybe get K-Meleon or Opera?
