3 Moving up questions

    I play cash on iPoker.
Started at 10c/20c and moved to 25c/50c. Am comfortably rolled for this and now am considering moving to .5/1.
I find I beat 25c/50c easily enough and in fact find it easier then 10c/20c.
    My 3 questions:

    1. Is 15 Buy-ins enough at .5/1 (ie $1,500)?
    2. Is there much of a jump in standards from 25c/50c?
    3. Should I reset my tracker database?

    Cheers for help

    1.

For me I am naturally a shot taker so at 30-35 BI's at my current level I will speculate a couple of sessions and see how I fair out. It depends on your own "feel" I suppose. Most guys will probably recommend 20 BI's requirement for a full step up.

    2.

Obviously there will be better and more experienced players as you shuffle up the ladder. Pay attention, observe any subtle nuances in the dynamics and review sessions/hands more thoroughly. Start with 1/2 tables (If you multi-table) and add more as you find you feet. Table selection and plugging up a few small leaks will be more important profit wise I think than locking horns consistently with the better players, though inevitably you will have to at some stage, It will help as you have to "open" up your game. Search 2p2 for 3betting ,floating and other topics on how to counter these types.

    3.

Nope, you may very easily end up back where you started last week if the variance faeries take a disliking to you. Now thats fun without any stats vs the same players.

But do EDIT: datamine at your prospective level for a few days or as extensively as you can afford to.

Hope that helps, happy fishing season and good Luck.

if you get into the habit of always having 30 buyins now it will serve you well later,if you're good enough to move up it won't take you long to win the extra 1500,especially at low stakes.

i tend to take shots and although im now quite good with bankroll stuff i could have saved a lot of time and effort if i'd payed more attention to it from the start, even now i have trouble being disciplined about grinding out after a bad run and wish i'd learnt good habits from the start.

I have 45~ buy ins for 20NL so am gradually moving up to 50NL. Since I 6 table, I take off 2 20NL tables and add a 50NL table. I'm a bankroll nit, nigh on untiltable. Btw, what bb/100 should you be running at to be consistantly beating a level? (big blinds/100)

1: Take a 2 buyin shot at $1800, if you lose it, grind it back out at $50NL and take another at $1800.
2: Bit of a difference, the good players are a lot more aggressive, but there's still plenty of bad players.
3: I usually filter it by month, but it's up to you. Don't delete your database though.

I think between 10 and 20 big blinds, ie 5 and 10 ptbb is good at micro.

That's still < the recommended 20 buy-ins for 50nl, so its not that strange

I just took shots at 100nl when moving up. I played alot tighter to start with (was playing 15/14/4) and i had eyepoker to find me nice tables so it was good.

There is more 3 betting so you will have to do be ready for that.

If you hit a bad swing and loose a few buyins and should move down - SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND MOVE DOWN.
I've heard many story about players who try to win it back. Or move up again
