Have you tried reformatting the memorycard? (make sure to backup the data first). Have you tried returning the psp settings to default?

Also, check if the memorycard is real. To do that, go to the photo or music menu, highlight the memorystick and press triangle. Then choose "information".

If is says magicgate - supported then its real. If it says magicgate - unknown then its fake

i have tried to format the card but the PSP just isn't recognising that it is in the slot at all.

The orange light keeps flashing but nothing....So when i turn it on theree is no option of a memory card.

I've had the same problem. The PSP doesn't seem to recognise that there's a memory stick in it. It was working fine up until a week or so back.

I have a card reader in my PC, and it can read it fine, although it shows no data being held on it. When I saw that my save games were obviously gone, I formatted in FAT32 with no luck and then re-formatted in FAT16. Both times I was able to transfer a few mp3s and jpegs onto the card while in the PC, but when I put the card back into the PSP, the PSP wouldn't read it and said that there was no card inserted. Orange light keeps flashing as if the PSP is accessing the card.

Anyone who can help wins a big Munki-Hug! ;)

    Hey guys,

This is fairly common with the PSP and happens regularly to my 4gb card. Just pop the card out of the PSP, then push it back in as far as it will go and hold it there until the orange light stops flashing. Always works for me, and I've had this problem on 3 PSPs so far. Give it a shot, ya never know ;)
