I was so excited to order a new camera from 42ndstreetphoto (Canon Powershot G9) only to get an email hours later to say that they don't accept international credit cards :(
I have a U.S address I can get it delivered to so that aspect is sorted...it's just the payment...
It's not in stock on Amazon & I want to order asap to be sure it arrives to coincide with my friend coming back from States.
Anyone know any sites that will accept my order ?
So far I've found circuitcity, but they charge an additional $41 tax which a lot of the sites II've seen don't. I don't mind paying it if it come to that but just wanted to see if anyone had some other tried & tested places to try

Afaik, it's not due to be shipped until the 15 of Oct anyways, but that could be horribly wrong - I can't remember the source.

Could your friend pick it up for you?

will they accept paypal? or some other electronic payment ask the friend that is coming over to buy it for you and transfer the money to their account using western union or some such thing.

I bought an extension tube from them via ebay and they had no problem accepting paypal, that might be the way to go.

I wish management of that shop travels to lots of countries and their @merican cards will be rejected at all those places!
How come that somebody doesn't accept VISA or MasterCard?

You could always buy it from Hong Kong, on eBay.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I signed up to be notified when stock came back on amazon & got it today! Ordered no problem - and for a little bit less too. :D
Can't wait to get my mitts on it. I'll be going from a 3 to a 12mp, I won't know myself!
Hope to become a regular on this board, I have lots to learn.

There are lots of people, on this board, who have a lot of good advice to give. I'm sure it wont be long before you're giving advice.

About the camera though, I presume you're looking for more from the upgrade than just an increase in megapixels?

Ah yes, there are definitely other factors. My main one is the shutter speed - this is (if I understand the numbers correctly) twice as fast as my current one. My big gripe was that I mostly use my camera to photograph my children (though now I'm getting a good one I will definitely try to diversify) and those darn kids move too fast  Lost of "moments" lost....

Shutter lag is a problem with most digital P&S cameras.
The G9 is a great camera though, judging by what the G7 was like & the improved spec. in the G9.
