What are the criteria for eligibility for council housing?

I have been on the housing list of Galway city council for eight years and I will be coming up for consideration soon. The thing is I want to add my boyfriend and his two sons to my application. He owns a piece of land. Will this effect my eligibility? If so, how?

Criteria vary, but the main objective is to house people, especially families.

How much land? It may or may not be taken into account based on whether it is (theoreticly) generating an income or not or whether it can be used for housing.

You should ask the housing officer's opinion.
