After the results of the northside vs southside thread (so far anyway), i see there's plenty of people from the southside making the intrepid journey across the liffey regularly to play at hrta

So for those of you on the southside, if there was a site open on this side of the city, would you go to it and if so would you still go all the way across to hrta on a regular basis?

I know for me personally, hrta is still my main site, and it is also the na taibhse home site, but if there was a site over this side, i'd probably play at least once or twice a month, or maybe even start playing both saturday and sunday, saturday at hrta and a few hours on sunday over the southside, hell, i'd probably even try squeeze in a few hours during the week after work :D

If the site was any good yes I would make it my main site but would still go to hrta once in a while. If it wasnt good I'd still go to HRTA.

Well if there was a site closer I would be able to play evening games. I would still head out to HRTA especially from talking to Paul and the plans he has for the place and the enthusiasm that he has for the sport.

Like you I would probably skirmish Saturday and Sunday as well.

Well, a site on the southside would make it more likely for some of the deep-south types to get some skirmish time in, even during the week.

As for heading up to HRTA as regularly as before, well, I could hardly go less could I?

I would love to have somewhere close enough that I could skirmish every weekend. HRTA is just too far from me for that to be possible. So somewhere within one bus journey of Bray would be great.

It all depends what the quality of the site is like. If someone opens up a forest based site on the southside, I'd find it very hard not to be there every weekend.

There are definitely enough of us anyway for it to be worthwhile.

IMHO there will still be a comute because we will never afford a site except in outskirts of the city. Cant thing of anywhere except if you could rent a bit fo forest on the dublin mountains which is all public but it may be bossible to green net an area....

If one did open it would mean we clould get out more regularyl but as i said in the other thread i dont think we can support another site just yet.

If there was a site on the southside it would be my first choice. Also the Hawks would use it for training etc..

This is partly why i wanted to see the numbers of southsiders. I am looking at maybe getting somewhere to put an airsoft site on the southside with wooded area.

    Still in planning though....

i dont think we can support another site just yet.

With 53 people turning up to HRTA and loads more people in the southside who can't make it out, I reckon we most definitely can support another site out this way.

Finding land is another matter completely. :(

aye, the plans for the new place sound good alright

im a bit unsure as to whether another site can be supported yet, i havent heard much about how drogheda is doing, but then again, it's a bit of a journey for anyone living around dublin (ok, not as far as across the boarder, but further than swords) i think with the number of southside players, it might be feasible for another site in this neck of the woods

setting up on southside would cost a fortune ,look at tallaght the place is a giant building site , premium rent area , outdoor location could be an idea or an old factory ,2 ideal places with forrestry the Hellfire club and futher down the same mountain lord masseys ,

The hellfire club and masseys would be I deal but people walk there.

havent been in a few years, but from what i remember, lord masseys would be an incredible site to play at, same for the hellfire club, although neither one is ever going to be a realistic option
