    hi there.

    i work between 36 - 48 hours a week.
i dont earn that much money but im trying to save for college in america.

been thinking about taking up a second job. im half way to getting my psv licence and ive been looking for taxi work to work around my job i have right now.

is there any legal problems with doing it?

obviously im paying tax on my main job, but would i be allowed to take up a second? say working 20 hours as a taxi driver to make the extra money?

whats the revenue position on having 2 jobs?

i know i would only be able to use my tax credits on 1 job, and the second job i would pay 20% on all of it. and 40% when it goes over the bracket.

would it be worth it? for the last few months ive not spent a penny that i didnt need and im dedicated to saving. just having an extra job would allow me to save faster.

any help or info would be great.

    I've two jobs.

I work a normal 9-5 job and I teach evening classes in a third-level institution (not Tallaght, for the record :) ).

There are no legal implications, bar the European Working Time Directive which deals with the number of hours you work per week. I don't know the full details of it, and to be honest, most employers mention it but don't enforce it.

As for Revenue, you ring them up and say I want x% of my credits dedicated to Job A and y% to Job B. I allocate all to one and none to the other. Makes it easier.
