Choosing between a 20" and 24" Dell Ultrasharp Monitor

I have had the 2407WFP for the last few months and I'm happy with it. I upgraded from a 19" CRT and I really appreciate the difference.

I bought the A01 revision of the 2407wfp last year and ended up returning it for a refund due to various issues (light bleeding at edge of monitor, noticable banding) but the latest A04 rev (which all new 2407WFP are) has none of these issues or they are less of a problem.

The native resoution for the 2407WFP is 1920x1200 so if you play the latest games, you'll need a more powerful system to run them comfortably at that res compared to the 2007WFP (1680x1050 native res).

Also, I have a couple of stuck pixels on mine - nothing too noticable - however, Dell will only replace the monitor if there are 5 or more dead/stuck pixels.

    Thanks Jilm

if I purchased a 2nd hand one how would I know whether it's an A01 or A04 version? Is it stated on the back of the monitor?

The 24 inch screen has far more options when it comes to connectivity.. Have had 1 for 2 years now and couldn't recommend it enough.

Yeah, it's on one of the white stickers on the back.

Does the A02 version have ghosting issues?

I'm not sure. Can you try the monitor out before you buy?

The dell forums and Widescreen gaming forum might also be of help.

I think that if you order a dell ultrasharp be prepared to wait at least a month as they are very low in stock

Thanks very much for the replies!

Are there any 22" or 24" widescreen monitors which you would choose instead of the 24" Dell™ 2407WFP A04 ? Any which are at least as good?
