VoIP to/from your Mobile?

Pat Phelan's Cubic Telecom were presenting at TechCrunch40 last night, and claim to have a VoIP/mobile solution that cuts roaming charges.

According to the Cubic site, there's a GSM/WiFi convergence phone and a special SIM card. Calls are routed through international calling bundles, as far as I can see, which is how the charges are cut so much. You can even assign local phone numbers in various different countries (including Ireland, UK & USA), which always point to your mobile. That way, your friends/business contacts have a local number to call you at, rather than paying international rates.

Interesting concept - hope it works!
Scobleizer is predicting they'll win TechCrunch, btw.
