Power of Dreams were due to reform and play two Dublin gigs last weekend, in Crawdaddy. Anyone know if it went ahead? I didn't hear a thing.

For those of you who are not an old bastard like me and don't remember the early nineties.

http://www.myspace.com/powerofdreams (Play Raindown loud) Not the best selection of their tracks at the moment but you get the idea.

One of my favourite Irish bands ever.

The gigs were announced sometime in August and promptly cancelled a few days later. Something to do with the drummer being contracted to finish out the gigs he was doing for another band in the States..

It might happen again as some stage in the future when all the lads can get together at the same time.

Sadly there are many Boards regulars who were only BORN in the early nineties.
Indeed I remember it well - a very special time for music. I was only 12 in 1990 but thanks to my older brothers I was already appreciating good music.
And Power of Dreams were fantastic!
I was in Thomas Read's on Dame Street last night and the DJ played nothing but "Madchester" tunes between 11pm and 3am - it was magical! There were guys in their 40s who were "there" for it, but there were kids who were only about 18 or 19 too. And they absolutely loved every minute of it.

A real shame, I was really looking forward to seeing them play again.

I'll just stick with younger and younger girls, it'll be fine :)

They always played pretty good music in the basement of Thomas Reads but haven't been in there in ages. I think this weekend i'll go in and see what's doing. To be honest I don't live that far away I just hadn't thought of it in a while.
