    Hi i heard off of a friend of mine that you could buy pet monkeys in a shop out by malahide anybody any insight on this??

    As brilliant as monkeys are... keeping one as a pet is a very bad idea.

    Yes even if legally he can do this surely ethically this is very wrong? They are wild animals and need specialist surroundings to interact with.

    Urgh. Its disturbing to see those Americans (in particular) who keep monkeys and dress them in baby clothes.

    If there's one thing I've learned from FRIENDS its that monkeys are illegal as pets.

    I think he's referring to the sit-com... in which case I guess there is a ban on monkeys in New York.

    FYI, it's also illegal to keep hippos as pets in Manhattan (just the thing for an apartment IMO)
