    What a load of bollocks!

First you lose the original venue.
Then ticket holders have to buy more tickets.
Show up tonight and get told by door staff that the event cancelled.

NO sign of the promoters to break the news.
NO updates on the website - I checked before I left.

Looks like you couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery!

I had a problem getting tickets at the time of the original launch, Haven't bothered trying for this one. Seems a bit too changable!

To be fair I heard the council threatened the venues license to operate at the last minute.

    Pity.

I can only tell you what I know as coach of the Irish fighter on the card.
I came out of a meeting on thursday afternoon to a missed call from the promoter,When I called him back he told me that castlereagh council had contacted the venue and told them that if they wanted their license renewed then it would be in their best interest not to stage the event. However he also told me thet his solicitor was in contact with the hotel and that we would be informed what was happening as the day went on.The other fighters were already in Belfast from Brazil, lithuania and spain. The others were still travelling [ well except the english guy who just didnt show up ].
We didnt hear anything else until 11:30 when we were told that the event was definately off but could we show up to the press conference and talk to the press.
This we did.Although I didnt see anything on the local news about it.
We were well pissed off as Im sure you can imagine but not as upset Im sure as the guys who travelled further than we did.
I have to say in defense of the promoters that this was their first show, they did everything possible to put the event on but when the event gets pulled at the last minute there was nothing they could do.They have lost a lot of cash over this and Im sure the lack of information was an over sight on their behalf.
What can I say,I have a fighter who trained twice a day, every day, for 8 weeks for this event and now has to wait to see what else I can do for him.
We have no bad feeling toward the promoters and I hope they are able to salvage something from this mess when the issue goes to court.
    Peter
