So far we've gotten an awful lot of work for TY.Teachers are saying that we should get involved in more clubs etc but we have too mnay porjects and work to do.

I was told by a person now in 6th year that its like this the first month.

Any one else in the same situation?.

all i can say is, god help you when you go into 5th year if you think you're swamped in TY. you're going to have maybe twice your weekly workload.. per day.. (depends on how much you get, ofc)

I have to write my own fable and type an essay about a ruined church in Kilcoole for first 2 classes tomorrow morning.

I only have two teachers that aren't treating TY like a real year

I dislike my 4th year yearhead. She is really strict for 4th year and takes things way to seriously.

ok, to give you an example of fifth year homework. (edit: this is just today's homework)
    • 2 questions in Irish, on a poem, (HL) so they have to be long. about the themes and how they're put across in the poem.
    • write up an experiment in chemistry + diagrams
    • Study the chapter for a test in biology
    • 2-4 harder than LC questions (y'know the ones you'll never see but are there anyway) on undetermined co-efficents
    • French - comprehension work, 10-20 questions
    • English - 2 long questions on poetry.. writing about imagry in the poem in detail.
    • Applied maths - 2 questions. s = ut + ½at² anyone?

:D still think TY is hard? :p

    Mini Co ... Tuckshop
    Home Ec ... cooked
Art ... Didnt have to come in
Construction ... those who wanted, burned a drawing onto a piece of wood.
Religion...went to the PE hall every class.
    Tae-kwondo .... learned tae-kwondo for 6 weeks
    Chess (Hobbies)- funniest thing ever
French - Watched french cartoons and talked
German - didnt even go into the class went library to sit on beanbags

Tech Graphics - went on computers (CAD) (bebo ha)

Went horseriding, quadding, swimming, gym, museum, went to a few open days in colleges, were allowed watch all the school matches.

Emm there was barely anyone in from January-May
    September-Dec people turned up sometimes.

I missed 37 Days ... nothing got said.
    Most others missed 40-60

Also we got off 2 weeks earlier than the rest of the school for summer.
    No exams whatsoever.

    BASICALLY BIGGEST DOSS EVERRR .

Had to do an account of 4th yr at the end.

Went to the library for 3 classes and got a Distinction at the end.

All the people with distinctions had a party.

Oh dear, 5th year shall be awful.

LOL I exactly had the same experience. Couldn't believe how easy it was compared to 5th year which was far more of a workload:p

Tbh its true that ty is as much work as you want it to be, but the amount you get is the amount you put in

I'm getting homework in most classes every night, just like every other year. I know it's up to the school how they want to treat TY but I thought we weren't meant to get homework  (obviously apart from projects, assignments etc)

Aw. How lousy.............its the general consensus of all the teachers in my school that we're not supposed to get homework........

Apart from our projects. And the odd handout nobody bothers to do lol
