Listened to this a few times over the weekend. What can I say... Just give up already 50. The beats never get off the ground (except for Ayo Technology, which despite featuring Justin Timberlake, has one of the best beats I've heard this year - definitely wasted on 50 cent), the lyrics just sound bored and it just seems that 50 is trying too hard to give himself a gangsta image (pity, as he's lost all credibility after letting Justin Timberlake onto his album, just look at Snoop and his struggle after "Signs").

Do yourselves a favor and skip this album.

    1/5

I haven't heard the album, and don't agree with your Timberlake remarks(have Talib Kweli and Timbaland lost all 'credibility' as well?) but there is little doubt in my mind that 50 is on his way out.If 'Ayo Technology' is the best he has to offer then his album won't sell.

Unfortunately, most of these rappers that bring JT onto their tracks are just trying to get into the mainstream. As for Timbaland, I liked his earlier stuff but he's in every second song out these days and all his current work just sounds the same.

    *** Timbaland - sell out, corporate-cock-sucker

agree that 50 should give up, dissapointing album as expected, but i dont agree about the timberlake comments. what about pharrell, t.i., clipse? they were guests on his albums and they are among the best out there at the moment. i do get the feeling that 50 wanted to work with timberlake because of the mainstream factor, i mean i cant imagine a radio station/music channel not playing JT's latest single/collaboration. personally i think the song would not be near as popular as it is if it wasnt for JT.

Timbaland is getting too big for his boots, first he started with scott storch for some reason and now he wants to challenge dr. dre in album sales. detox is going to sell BIG is all i have to say, dont know what tim is expecting. tim has gone way to pop for me and he samples way too much imo.

as i said to a mate over the weekend, you can't emotionally connect to his stuff anymore.

He'll never write another "Many Men".

It's what happens when you get rich and can only sing about that.

50 is dead, listen to chamillionaire, doesn't curse ,gives out free mixtapesand hes a breath of fresh air to the hip hop industry!

JT's album is better than a lot of recent mainstream hiphop albums and he usually adds something good to any track he's on. Dont let his boy band days colour your image of him.

Timbaland knows how to make a beat, i've never really understood why people equate being popular with selling out. If you keep your trademark style, you haven't sold out at all.

50 Cent's days as a rapper appear numbered, and the album is mostly trash IMO. I didn't really like anything he did after GRODT anyway.

No Curtis is definitely substandard compared to Graduation. I've never been a fan of Kanye West, but his latest album is pretty ****in good. The beats (apart from 1 or 2 songs) are well executed and a breath of fresh air. On the other hand, 50 is still sounding like he did 2 or 3 years ago, still talking the same ****.

I haven't heard Curtis but Grduation is one of the albums of the year.

Totally agree with ya Orizio. I've never been a big Kanye West fan, but the production and beats he laid down on Graduation are sick. Big Brother, Can't tell me nothing, I Wonder and Flashing Lights are some of the best beats I've heard all year. Defo in my top 5 of 2007.

This isn't mean to take the piss at all, but I seem to be the only one who thinks Fiddy backing tracks sound like there ripped off old video games...P.I.M.P sounds like Super Mario Sunshine, Ayo sounds like Space Invaders???

I think he's just lacking innovation at this stage in his career wompa. He seems to be sticking too closely to the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" formula. If 50 took some time to drop his fake ass gangsta image a bit, and really let himself flow like The Game did on Doctors Advocate, he'd be a lot better off.

Yup as dragan already said its pathetic that all he can sing with about is being rich. His Get rich or die tryin album was hungry and raw and full of promise. Its amazing how drained of innovation this new album is. As for collaboration... it doesn't matter who you duet with as long as you bring "your style" to the table too. 50 is dead. Anything he does from now on will be tainted because of this failure.

    My 2 cents.

No offence, its not innovation that hes missing, its talent. The guy mumbles and has never been able to put together a rhyme that a 6 year old (albeit a filthy mouthed 6 year old) couldn't compete with. If anything, Get Rich or Die Tryin' dragged hip hop back by about ten years (ice ice baby...).

Sorry but i dont agree. Get rich or die trying was a good album. Some good tunes. I don't get the "draggin it back 10 years". Like some people mentioned it had some quality stuff like "many men". I think it was Dre produced which would explain alot.
