NUIG IV is Saturday 26th January 2008.

I know IAAA calender meeting hasn't been held yet but that's the date we'll be booking with them! Usually nothing clashes with it in January (team event usually on early Jan in Dublin) so hopefully the same will be true for this year.

Hi everyone. Fingers crossed that the IV finals will be provisionally booked for the 29th of March in UL. This is not confirmed until the IAAA calender meeting on the 3rd of Nov. Please try to fit in all the IV dates this year before the outdoor season starts. Dolmens usually hold their shoot the first weekend in April and I think they are getting a little peeved with the finals being held on the same weekend as the opening outdoor shoot every year.

DCU/DA shoot is the 17th/18th of November.

Maynooth college usually has exams in mid-late january, but you'd want to check with them to confirm.

I've posted it before, but in general it is best to confine the IV's to the range:
    Nov 15 -Dec 15
    Feb 5 - April 5
And thats pushing it at the first/final dates. Ye'd need to go through the various college timetables again to confirm those ranges, but they probably still hold.

We try and get our (NUIG) IV a little later in the year but unfortunatly our hall is given out to various outside non-university parties as they pay better. It sucks but we've tried to get around it but to no avail

Should have a date for the Maynooth IV in the next few days. Probably end of november-ish!

Howdy all, I've had a mail from el presidente of the IAAA looking for some provisional dates for the IV's. As you guys have probably had to book your college sports halls some time ago he's looking for an idea of when your shoots will be.....especially the ones between now and Christmas.

Out of curiosity are we hoping to have a rep from each college at the calendar meeting??

Also I want to bring to your attention that there will be coach tuition courses available to those with an interest in coaching archery within thier club. There are certain criteria required to take part in the course & the cost of the course is €150 (to be paid by the club). The details are available on from the following page on the IAAA website.

    http://www.archery.ie/calendar.htm

Click on the sylabus document and the details will become available. I've completed the course & have found it extremely beneficial.

Hope to see lots of people at the calendar meeting, Sinéad (DIT Archery Club & Dublin Archers Archery Club)

We've booked our Hall for the 23rd of February. We booked early to try and avoid the confusion that made us unable to host one last year. I hope this date is alright with everyone.

I was wondering who was going to the calendar meeting?

myself and Cian are going for UL. still hoping to have the IV finals on the 29th of March. It fits in fine with national training.

NUIM IV will be on the 1st December.
Dont think it clashes with anything on the IAAA calender.
    Times etc. to follow.

There is a shoot planned by Kingdom archers on the first of Dcember so the NUIM iv will clash with that. Is there any chance yee can change the date of the IV?

We'll be hosting the National student championship on the 9th of February. Just waiting for confirmation of this date from the IAAA but there's nothing else listed on that date on the calendar.

This will be the same format as last year. A 60 arrow qualification in the morning followed by head to head knockouts in the afternoon.

The national student championships is still on the 9th of February. I know Dublin archers are having a shoot this day aswell but there is not other dates available for us.

I contacted the IAAA about our competition in November so not sure why it wasn't added to the calendar.

I'll post the full details of the competition early next week. I'll also email all colleges with the details.

Are we regarding the 60 arrow qualifier as part of the IV league or is going to be a complete stand-alone comp (original idea of the event)?

It'll be the same as last year. The 60 arrow qualifyer will count for the individual and team iv league but there will be no prizes on the day for these
