I am a huge fan of Primus. I thought I'd start a thread for the band that imho simply deserve more recognition.

    Some ideas for the thread:

Start a petition to get Primus to play Ireland

Raise awareness of the greatness of Primus amongst nooooooobs

    Discussion of favourite albums

    Discussions of favourite songs

    All things Primus!

    My favourite album: Brown Album

My favourite song: Tough one, I'd have to say Tommy the Cat

For those who don't know the band click here

Not too familar with them apart from the South Pk theme, but I'd imagine that they're good.

Have you heard the Reverand Horton Heath?

Never heard of the Reverand Horton Heath but I'll check him out now soon as I've this reply submitted. For a decent primus song click...... here - features Tom Waits as Tommy. Originally this was sone by Claypools Grandad. Gotta love wikipedia.:D

I didn't know Claypool's grandad did the vocals for the Suck on This version. If I recall right that's Claypool's grandad in the video though :)

Haven't listened to Primus in a fair while, but Claypool's playing will always be an influence to my bass playing style. If Primus ever came here though, I'd be here faster than he can play :)

Primus are a brilliant band. Id love to see them live,

Would have to say The Brown Album is my favorite too with Tales From The Punchbowl a close second.

The two lost theme tune bands beginning with P.

Along with Polaris (Pete and Pete), I don't know anything about Primus.
    I'd like to though.. hmmm.

Due to the fact that Primus haven't played in Europe in a decade I have created a petition to get them to play here.

    Please sign it at www.petitiononline.com/bobcock

    Thanks :D

Shake hands with beef is my favourite bassline of all time. You cant beat a bit of Primus first thing in the morning to get your groove on.

Gimme back my avatar!!! Wicked bass player that Les.

"When I was young, all i wanted to do was make a living from what I did best best. But since there was no real marjet for masturbation, I had to fall back on my bass playing abilities."

I get the feeling there'll be alot of clashing avatars in this thread lol

I'm a big Primus fan but I think Brown is one of their weaker albums, my favourites would have to be Frizzle Fry, Pork Soda and Antipop but each to their own. They are a truly great band and are definitely on my list of band s to see before I die.

Like oh my God, I can't believe you're wearing the same avatar as me!

Ya, a lot of people think that the brown album is weak, I like it for how different it is. The whole analogue sound to it is deadly too. Frizzle Fry would be a close second with Seas of Cheese taking the bronze.

Hope people are signing the petition! It would be great to get the lads over for a gig.

The Brown Album is awesome simply for The Return Of Sathington Willoughby. What a track. Like Primus quite a lot, like bass a lot. Haven't really done the rounds with them yet. Only have a couple of the albums.

Duchess and the proverbial mindspread is my favourite track on the Brown album. I got a promotional postcard for the release of that album signed by Claypool, Ler and Brain. It's off ebay, but it's definitely genuine. Wouldn't imagine there's big demand for Primus forgeries!
