Any suggestions for a smart battery charger?

Guys, considering purchasing a smart charger for the batteries I have. After overcharging the original batteries that arrived with my new toys(D boys M4 A1, and hp5k) I,ve replaced the M4 batteries with 8.4v 1500ma firefox that shiva was good enough to get in and will replace the stick battery for the 5k when they arrive into stock with Shiva hopefully an 8.4v firefox maybe 1400ma or 1500ma. So rather than having loads of differant chargers all over the place I want a charger that will safely charge all my stuff without over charging them possibly with a digital display or a guage that will tell me exactly the state of the batteries i.e. flat, charging, full. So guys, any suggestions as to makes or brands and models of chargers suitable foe the job?

By the way thanks to Shiva!! M 4 back on line and rockin an rollin like new:D

I use an 'idiot-proof' universal auto-cutoff charger, which I picked up from AirsoftScotland many moons ago.

Does the job for both my mini and not-so-mini batteries

But Lemming that doesnt discharge, which can vitally affect the life of your batteries.

I have the cheaper version, my friend bought the one in the link I posted. Man am I pi$$ed I didnt pay the extra few dollars!

That's why I have a TM discharger. But in any case afaik, NiMh batteries don't have "memory", only the NiCd ones do.

But why would you want a battery charger that discharges? Are you worried about over-charging? It's quite simple. The charger charges the battery until it's full, at which point the charger cuts off leaving you with a fully charged battery. Insert into AEG and use. When finished, use TM discharger if needed.

They can develop it tho over time, not a severly as NiCD ones. LiMh are supposed to be even better than NiMh but we've all seen in mobile phones and laptops that they do infact develop the memory effect.

I just suggested the charger I posted in the link because it does EVERYTHING you could ever want in one little box.

I can use a single mini-type 8.4v 1400mah battery in my P90 for a FULL days play, example being the Predator BDay shoot(which was literally one long game for the whole day with only an hour break for lunch.) because I used it to condition my batteries from new and discharge them everytime I go to charge them.

Thats not alway the memory effect. Batteries only have a few years of life anyway. Even with perfect charging they'll still die. Trick is to use em while you got em.
