Anyone else really excited about this?

I've only just seen the trailer, and it looks awesome. I don't like the fact that it's again set on modern day Earth, but it looks a million times better than AVP. It looks like the studio actually listened to some people this time and didn't try to make a wussy PG 13 rated Alien and Predator film! In fact, the short trailer has more hardcore action / gore than the entire "uncut" first AVP. Hopefully this will be a return to the roots of both excellent franchises. Bring it on!

I think they gave us the best/worst bits of the film in the trailer.

I'm really looking forward to this film; I think the film companies must have realised that with films like 300 doing so well recently that there is an audience for more adult violent films.

You should also check out 30 Days of Night (http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=pvFDOs4Km4U)

    Or, John Rambo (http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=ELnB5-CTJrA)

I think these films look great aswell.

AVP would have been deadly if they removed all the human characters from it altogether.

AVP2 should no humans, just a narrator, Sir Richie Athenborough(Spelling) or Steve Irwin(RIP) would be perfect!!

What is? Muzzy's idea for a nature documentary style AVP, or the actual film trailer?

That doesn't bother me in the slightest! There's a ridiculous amount of stuff crammed into the trailer, and if they f*ck it up in the actual film with crap MTV editing, I'll be perfectly happy.

looks good but so did avp when i saw its trailer, the directors where talking about the film being more like the original films that the aliens keep more to the shadows but tbh it doesn't look like they did that, this film could just end up just another action film which it shouldn't be,it should be full of suspense like the old films, maybe im wrong and this film will be like what the directors said but from watching the trailer i think they changed their mind and i don't like this but it could be great, just have to wait and see

Looks great but, I don't know, it just doesn't look as gruesome as the original movies, all this CGI is dissapointing, and Aliens and Predators are already "known" I believe the biggest attraction of both the Alien and the Predator was that they were mysteries, enigmas and hardly seen throughout the movie, and the kills were unexpected and scary coupled with the good old special effects.

This movie feels like most of the movies today...... like a multiplayer deathmatch.

The whole movie is already apprent from the trailer, Predators crash, face huggers escape, face **** couple of people, some people get killed by both aliens and predators, finally predators and humans unite against aliens, and then they leave.

The first Predator and Alien movie can be summed up much easier(Predator - Alien arrives to the earth starts hunting the elite soldiers, Alien - a group of cargo transporters land of a mysterious planet, one crew member gets infected and the whole thing begins) but both of those movies were so much deeper and with a much better storyline.

It's too early to judge but AVP2 honestly feels like a scifi snuff film, kill after kill making the most of that R rating.

if you look at the trailer i posted just above your last one, just after the trailer says "Population:5470" you get a glimpse of the hybrid, looks lind of like an alien with dreads/Predator with a tail

seen this in the trailers for resident evil extinction and was really impressed. thought it was gonna be some crap about iraq what with the returning soldier and small town setting then bam: totally different. and the tension looks WAY turned up which to me is far more important than action.

im really looking forward to it, according to the trailer i saw its coming in january 08 :)

Yep it looks like a sequel anyway because
the predator-alien hybrid that was born at the end of the first one is gonna be in it.

Theres a feature in The latest Empire and it actually sounds really good. (I hated AVP but love the Alien & Predator series of movies).

The director says that he wants to use as much models & guys in Alien/Predator suits as possible and as little CGI as he can which is great. He also says that its R rated and is very violent and gory. It baffles me how you can take two of the greatest movie monsters of all time, both renowned for violent R rated adult movies and make a 13PG movie from it. It worries me as the same thing happened with Die Hard & Terminator.

Don't remember that bit in the first movie!

    Sounds cool!

Well, it wasn't in the first as such. Remember the ending, when the Predators take the dead pred on board their ship and you see the alien busting out of its chest. The alien takes on the form of whatever it's born out of, which is why there was a cow-shaped alien in the Alien 3.

I got that as well, really whets the appetite. I hope I'm not getting carried away, but I think it could be great.

Great to hear, less CGI is always better, just take a look at The Thing and any of the today's "horror" movies today.
