What format you getting it on?

I have to go with PC sa i just cant play FPS with a controller, i can do single player alright and get used to it and take my time with shots whilst battling the analog controller to point where i want it too, but when it comes to MP i dont really have that time and i am usually dead fairly quick.

Playing the beta and the game is stunning on the 360 honestly its gorgeous everything looks right but playing it isnt, mainly as i am crap with console games that are meant for pc controls. i getting raped on every server and only rarley do i get anyone stupid enough to walk into my line of fire.

PC all the way for me and after the beta COD4 is my game of the year and 2nd only to pes on my must have list.

360 for the multi player and PC for the single.

I can't play FPS games on the PS controller so thats straight out.

i will say it runs smoother on ps3 (online is pretty much the same accross the bar though) but playing an FPS with a controller is a criminal offense. i'm surprised no one has used ps3's ability to support kb&mouse yet

UT3 out in November on the PS3 will support M&K control. The 360 version won't. After playing the beta, I can't see it being any smoother on the PS3. The 360 version is very fast paced, no lag, nothing. PS3 should be the same.

Going to be a difficult decision in my house ...oh no , wait a minute , no it won't . We only have a PC ( and a ps2 :o ) so I guess we will go for ...ah . er ...PC .

PC because it'll look nicer with my beast of a machine :)

But if i was a console gamer i'd get it on 360, just because of XBox live...it's a well established system that PS3 doesnt have.

I hate controllers, except 4 car sims

PC FTW! Playing FPS games with a controller should be punished IMO...

    360 cos I don't have a PC :(

I will be buying a gaming rig after Xmas for Crysis so I might pick up CoD4 and play it like its meant to be played.

On the 360 definetely, games on PCs is over rated.
Had no problems with the controls during the beta.

    PC.

The only things I can play on a controller are: Racing and Fighting, the rest belong to be controlled with a keyboard and a mouse.

PC. I'm terrible at FPS without a keyboard and mouse. I like the way the ps3 supports keyboard and mouse.

    Won't for CoD 4

Mouse & keyboard is obviously easier for playing FPS but it takes more skill to get used to the controller and everyone is in the same boat.

I'll be getting it on 360 anyway. Nov 6th is it?

That sucks. I presumed it would be a universal thing, that all games would work with a mouse and keyboard.

Ordered the PC version for £20 from cdwow, so that's the one for me.
Not a fan of FPS games on consoles anyway...

For me, I've played FPS's on PC's for too long and it just doesn't feel right on a console. But for things like Graw 1/2 and Gears Of War using the controller seems to suck you into the action more. For FPS's it seems to pull me away from them. But I'm weird like that.

    360. pretty much gave up pc gaming after BF2 as it was all the auld lappy could really handly. Too much cost involved to get back into the pc gaming scene all over again.

Ha, that's a nice price there, thanks tman!

    are cdwow reliable?

I've ordered BF2 from MX2 before, twice, and both time the game came with a cd fallen out of it's latch and all scratched up.

    Didn't have a similar problem with play.com

gonna be 360 cos just picked up a h.d projector and only have a 9800 pro for the p.c so she be struggling.

youst to think that fps can't be played on console but rainbow six vegas changed that.

Ok so we all know that when an FPS comes out on all three platforms, most people clamour to shout "PC FTW!". But, if you didn't have a good enough gaming PC and you had both a 360 and a PS3, which of the consoles would you get it on? I'm not too interested in multiplayer, so the advantage of XBoxLive isn't enough to decide it, and I only recently bought the PS3 and am depressed at the lack of games I have for it, so I'm leaning towards the PS3 version just to justify the console and stop it being an expensive paperweight.

So beside XBox Live, are there any other factors on either console to consider?

360 for me as my pc isnt really up to the task anymore. I could prob run it, but at low detail and that not how i wanna play it. Also the lure of gamerscore and acheivements always sways me in favour of the 360. I can paly FPS's on a pad just fine, completed bioshock, halo 3, MOH:A and TOB all on a pad without a problem.

I've bought Pc games from them before and they came in the wrong language! Asia is Region 2 as well and they claimed that the game works so I shouldn't care about the language! wont be going back there meself.

    360.

The 360 is my gaming machine now. I only use the PC for Football Manager. Hey I played and loved Rainbow 6 Vegas on the 360 and never once felt the need for a keyboard and mouse so I'll manage without.

It's (mostly) up to preference, but I think the 360 controller is much much better for FPS games than the Sixaxis.
I don't think there is meant to be much of a difference other than that.
