firstly - dont get someone else to buy your clubs in a country that's not exactly a short journey away!

go to mcguirks or similar shop and pick up some clubs - talk to staff - see what feels good.

if you are serious about taking up the game, spend 300-400 euro minimum otherwise you are throwing money away.

i bought a driver for 20 euro one day - took it to the range and after 60 balls the head shattered!

That's is a very good deal and they are a very decent set of clubs.

I got a set of Wilson Deep Red's which included 5 - 9 irons, pitching and sand wedge and 2 hybrid clubs, 3 & 4. No putter, I got with with a bag and I think it came to 350 euro so you've got a good deal!

As for the clubs, I think they're great. I'm just starting too btw. Easy to use and feel great imo

I bought a set of these last week on ebay from the UK. 5-PW irons plus 3+4 hybrid - cost me just over €200 including p&p. Saw the same clubs (last years model) in McGuirks for €399 though their set also included a SW. Figured I could get myself a wedge, putter and driver for the money I saved without having to put too much extra to it.

Haven't had the chance to use them yet but hoping to get out this weekend but from what I have read/heard they seem to be a decent set of clubs.

There is a thread on here about buying clubs/gear from the US and the customs and excise tax you have to pay so take this into account before you buy.

If you are just starting off then I'd suggest trying some 2nd hand sets as you'll get much better clubs for the money. Go to a good pro shop that has 2nd hand clubs and they will help you choose. Quite often they will let you change them if you don't like them.
